PROJECT: Teeling Whiskey Maturation Warehouse Facility, Bailieborough, Cavan
CLIENT: Teeling Whiskey

Service: CSR (planning and landscape) and Lohan Donnelly (design) worked together to obtain planning permission for a small whiskey maturation warehouse and hand bottling facility in Bailieborough, Co. Cavan for Teeling Whiskey Company. Teeling is one of the emerging independent whiskey companies in Ireland, and their maturation warehouse was granted on 4 January, 2019 (Reg. Ref. 17/508).

Irish whiskey is the world’s fastest growing spirit category and Irish agri-food category, with sales having increased by 11.2% in 2016 and accounting for more than one third of all Irish drink exports. As exports are meant to increase substantially year on year, this timely grant of planning permission provides Teeling Whiskey with an additional capacity for maturation storage.

The location of this decentralised maturation warehouse in Cavan ensures that the county has an opportunity to establish itself in the rapidly growing Irish whiskey industry, providing local jobs in the area, strategically located in a border region.
