MASTERPLANNING & LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR PLANNING
CSR provides development masterplanning and landscape design services to developers, architects and engineers on projects in all sectors including residential, commercial, town centre, industrial, infrastructure, and tourism, leisure and recreation projects.
URBAN & LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR PLANNING APPLICATIONS
CSR provides urban and landscape design services to local authorities and other agencies for streetscape improvements, urban plazas, parks and greenways, to enhance the public realm and green infrastructure of villages, towns and cities.
DETAIL LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR TENDER AND CONSTRUCTION
CSR provides detail design services for costing, tender documents and construction of landscape projects, and will supervise construction on behalf of clients to ensure the highest quality of finish.
LANDSCAPE AND VISUAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (LVIA), MITIGATION AND DEVELOPMENT VISUALISATION
CSR specialises in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA), preparing LVIA chapters for EIS or as stand-alone reports in support of planning applications. CSR has experience of LVIA for projects in all sectors in rural and urban locations including one-off houses, new estates, urban quarters and tall buildings, commercial and industrial developments, roads and bridges, quarries, water and waste infrastructure, wind and solar farms. CSR commissions zone of theoretical visibility (ZTV) maps and photomontages to inform the LVIA, and produces mitigation plans to minimise the landscape and visual impacts of development.
LANDSCAPE CONSTRAINTS, FEASIBILITY AND SITE SELECTION STUDIES
CSR carries out landscape constraints studies to inform site/route selection and feasibility assessments. Landscape and visual impacts of development are a common reason for refusal of planning permission and CSR can analyse the site/s, the context and relevant policy to inform the decision on location of development.
CSR also produces design briefs to ensure that potential landscape and visual (and other) impacts are avoided in the design process, thus improving the prospect of planning permission.
LANDSCAPE, RESOURCE AND HERITAGE PLANNING
CSR uses the process of Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) and technologies such as CAD and GIS to map the landscape and heritage assets at the local to regional scale. This allows for analysis of their significance, value and sensitivity, to inform strategies and designs for conservation, management or development.
