CSR are proud to announce the successful grant of planning permission for the proposed major mixed-use redevelopment at Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork.
The application sought a 10-year planning permission for a landmark mixed-use scheme comprising residential, retail, office, leisure, restaurant/café and crèche uses, together with significant public realm and transport infrastructure improvements. The approved development provides approximately 72,762 sq.m. of gross internal floor area and includes 249 apartments across four residential blocks, new office and retail floorspace, enhanced civic and community spaces, and major upgrades to pedestrian, cycle and public transport connectivity throughout the site.

A key feature of the scheme is its strong focus on sustainable urban development, including improved active travel infrastructure, three mobility hubs, extensive bicycle parking provision, enhanced bus access and accommodation for future Luas/LRT infrastructure. The proposal also delivers a new market square and upgraded public realm areas designed to support community events and everyday social activity at Mahon Point.
This successful outcome reflects an enormous collaborative effort by the wider project team over an extended period. In particular, CSR wishes to acknowledge the exceptional contribution of our late director, Eamonn Prenter, whose dedication, professionalism and commitment were instrumental in progressing the application through its many stages. He invested a huge amount of work into the preparation and refinement of the submission and would undoubtedly have been immensely proud to see the project secure planning permission.
CSR are pleased to have supported the delivery of a proposalthat will contribute positively to the continued growth of Cork City andprovide a more connected, vibrant and sustainable urban destination at MahonPoint.
