ARDILEA CRESCENT

Project Details

BRIEF

Located on a 2-hectare former demesne site, this residential development comprises two apartment blocks ranging from three to five storeys, a crèche, and 26 two-and-a-half-storey houses. The proposed landscape design incorporated a variety of elements, including a structured streetscape, open spaces positioned above a basement car park, protection measures for existing mature trees, a children's playground, and carefully considered boundary screening for privacy and visual cohesion. The landscape works were delivered in two phases, completed in 2022.

CONCEPT

Our approach focused on designing a landscape that delivers both functional and inviting open spaces for residents and the wider public to enjoy. The concept is rooted in the use of strong geometric forms, echoing the terraced nature of the site and the architectural language of the building façades. These forms not only enhance visual coherence but also help define distinct areas within the landscape. Key practical considerations included the implementation of sustainable water management strategies and the careful preservation of large, mature trees, which contribute to the site's ecological and aesthetic value. A high standard of materials and workmanship was essential throughout the construction process to ensure a durable, refined and visually cohesive outcome.
