OVERVIEW
CSR, as part of a multidisciplinary team led by Roughan & O'Donovan, delivered landscape architecture and public realm design for a €60 million, 2.5km active travel corridor linking the outer suburbs to the city centre. The scheme integrates bus priority, segregated cycle tracks and enhanced pedestrian infrastructure with mini-plazas, street trees, SuDS and high-quality public realm. Opened in November 2024, it transforms a vehicle-dominated route into an attractive, accessible and climate-resilient urban corridor supporting sustainable mobility and placemaking.
SERVICE PROVIDED
CSR led the public realm and landscape design from planning through detailed design and construction, including consultation, tender support and coordinated specifications. The design incorporated public spaces, bespoke paving, planting, SuDS and urban greening, including engineered tree pits developed with Dublin City Council to overcome underground utility constraints and support long-term tree establishment. The practice prepared coordinated specifications for paving, planting, street furniture and public realm infrastructure, ensuring design quality, consistency and successful project delivery.
