OVERVIEW
CSR provided landscape architecture services for the enhancement of the Connacht Rugby Sportsground development, focusing on the creation of a welcoming and functional public interface along College Road. Central to the scheme is a feature public plaza that acts as a vibrant arrival space, designed to accommodate informal match-day activities and improve the overall spectator experience. The design strengthens the connection between the stadium and its surrounding urban context, contributing to a more engaging public realm.
SERVICE PROVIDED
As part of the design team led by Tobin Engineers, CSR coordinated the design of the public realm along the road frontage, integrating both hard and soft landscape elements. This included the development of the plaza space and a coordinated streetscape strategy extending towards the training facilities and car park. Structural street tree planting and ornamental shrubs were introduced to enhance visual quality, provide environmental benefits, and create a cohesive link between the various components of the development.
