Former Jury’s Hotel Site/River Lee Hotel, Cork

Project Details

CSR provided EIS, planning law, planning and visual impact advice for the demolition and redevelopment of city the former Jurys Hotel, Lancaster Quay, Cork to allow for demolition of the existing Jury’s Doyle Hotel and the development of an Apartment scheme comprising 303 apartments in five blocks, crèche facilities and a hotel development comprising 182 bedrooms, bar area, servery areas ancillary service space located internally within the hotel and a leisure centre. The development will also provide for 453 basement car parking spaces to be used by both the hotel and apartment developments, riverwalk areas, circulation areas, set down areas and coach parking and the provision of a new vehicular and pedestrian bridge crossing the River Lee at a point north of the junction of Lancaster Quay and Mardyke Street. The development will be bounded by the River Lee to the north and St. Aloysius School to the south. The project has involved multiple applications over the years to accommodate various design change to respond to market demands.
