OVERVIEW

Limerick City Council appointed CSR to prepare a comprehensive Sports and Recreation Facilities Policy Framework Plan to address the current and future needs of Limerick City and its wider hinterland. The framework was developed to guide the strategic provision, enhancement and management of sports and recreational facilities over the long term.

SERVICE PROVIDED

CSR undertook an extensive audit of existing sports facilities and open spaces, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including statutory bodies, voluntary organisations, sports partnerships and community groups. The study assessed future recreational and sporting needs by examining demographic trends, projected population growth, participation patterns and land availability. Based on this analysis, CSR developed a strategic action plan setting out clear policies and implementation measures to guide the delivery of sports and recreation facilities over the following decade.
