OVERVIEW

CSR acted as planning consultant, project manager, landscape architect and arboriculture consultant on the planning application for a mixed use development comprising 52 high quality houses and a commercial building of 3,000 sqm on a brownfield site on Monivea Road, Galway City. Situated between the residential area of Mervue and adjacent commercial and industrial zones, the project required a sensitive response to a diverse urban context and complex planning policies. In collaboration with Gilroy McMahon Architects and Tobin Consulting Engineers, the scheme delivers an efficient layout that enhances both the site and the surrounding neighbourhood.

SERVICE PROVIDED

CSR acted as planning consultant, project manager, landscape architect and arboriculture consultant, guiding the project through the planning process. The team addressed key challenges including density requirements, market demand for family homes and Part V obligations, while ensuring protection of neighbouring amenities. They also shaped the commercial element to minimise parking and land-use conflicts, and delivered a high-quality landscape design featuring innovative homezone streets and attractive open spaces.
