OVERVIEW

CSR were retained by John Cleary Developments to provide planning and appeal advice for the redevelopment of the former Capitol Cinema site in Cork. The landmark project, granted permission by Cork City Council, involved the transformation of a prominent city-centre block fronting St Patrick’s Street, Grand Parade and Market Lane. The scheme replaced the existing cinema and adjoining buildings with a contemporary mixed-use development, contributing to the ongoing regeneration of the city core.

SERVICE PROVIDED

CSR delivered a comprehensive suite of consultancy services, including planning strategy, appeal support, retail layout design, and landscape and visual impact assessment to inform the planning application. The completed development provides retail accommodation across the ground, first and second floors, with office space located on the upper levels, creating a balanced and active mixed-use scheme in the city centre.
