CSR was retained by John Cleary Developments to provide planning and appeal advice on a landmark proposal permitted by Cork City Council for the redevelopment of the old Capitol Cinema. CSR provided planning, retail layout and landscape/visual impact assessment for the planning application.
The project involved the demolition of the former cinema site and adjoining buildings facing St Patricks Street, the Grand Parade and Market Lane. This was to allow for the construction of a mixed use retail and office development.
The new development will have shops on the ground, first and second floor, including LifeStyle Sports and Home Sense. The third and fourth floor office space currently has Facebook and Huawei as tenants.
