The team at CSR are delighted to confirm that the planning application for the enhancement of Murrough Waterfront Park in Wicklow Town has been officially approved. This marks a major milestone in the transformation of this cherished coastal landscape into a vibrant, accessible and ecologically sensitive public space.
CSR led the multidisciplinary design team as Landscape Architects and Town Planners, working in close collaboration with Roughan & O’Donovan Consulting Engineers, to develop a forward-thinking Park Masterplan for Wicklow County Council. The approved plan sets out a bold yet sensitive vision for the Murrough aimed at strengthening community connections, celebrating the site’s rich ecology and promoting sustainable recreational use.

The plan also retains and integrates much-loved community assets such as the existing playground and skatepark, ensuring continuity while delivering improved experiences for all users. Submitted under the Part 8 planning process, this approval represents a significant step forward in realising a community-driven vision for Murrough Waterfront Park.
