A representative team from CSR were pleased to attend the National Outdoor Recreation Conference 2025 in Limerick last week. The seamlessly managed event brought together a diverse range of voices all working to create high-quality, sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities across Ireland.
From the engaging pre-conference activities to the full-day programme of panels and presentations, the event was both energising and inspiring. The conference was officially opened by Dr. Úna May, CEO of Sport Ireland, and included the launch of the ‘Recreation in Ireland’s Outdoors’ booklet by Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary. This launch aligns with a key commitment outlined in Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors, the National Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2023–2027. The quality of discussion, around subjects such as responsible behaviour in the outdoors and best practice in community-led projects, reflected the real momentum and shared passion in the sector.
CSR are proud to support this growing movement through our work in landscape design, planning, green infrastructure and recreational masterplanning. Events like this reinforce the value of what we do and remind us of the impact well-designed outdoor spaces can have.
Thanks to all who contributed to such a dynamic and motivating day. We’re looking forward to continuing the conversations and the collaborations.

“In Glenveagh’s experience the quality of CSR’s work has been excellent. This is particularly true for their attention to detail which has been paramount on a number of projects on which we have partnered together including large-scale public tenders."
Planning approval marks a major step in reimagining this coastal gem. Led by CSR, the masterplan blends ecology, accessibility and community use including cantilevered lookouts and a sensory garden, whilst retaining existing facilities that locals love such as the playground and skatepark.
