€5.4 Million Funding Secured for Murrough Waterfront Park Enhancement

It was announced recently that the Murrough Waterfront Park Enhancement Project in Wicklow Town has been awarded €5.4 million under the new Towns and Cities Regeneration Investment Fund. The funding forms part of a wider €5.7 million allocation for County Wicklow announced by Simon Harris, who described the investment as transformational for local communities.
CSR Landscape Architecture and Town Planning led a multidisciplinary design team, working closely with Wicklow County Council, to develop the masterplan for the Murrough. The project seeks to create a vibrant, accessible and environmentally sensitive waterfront destination that enhances recreation, supports biodiversity and strengthens connections between people and place.
In his announcement, Simon Harris highlighted the importance of the Murrough to generations of Wicklow families and stated that the funding would provide an opportunity to deliver a waterfront park that the entire county can be proud of.
This significant funding commitment brings the vision for the Murrough Waterfront Park a step closer to reality, supporting the transformation of one of Wicklow's most valued public spaces.
