Wicklow County Council has officially submitted plans for the enhancement of Murrough Waterfront Park in Wicklow Town. CSR were proud to lead the design team as Landscape Architect and Town Planners with Roughan & O'Donovan Consulting Engineers to develop a Park Masterplan that delivers a sustainable vision for The Murrough. Key considerations include preserving the area's unique ecology, improving access and connectivity, enhancing biodiversity, and balancing recreational uses with environmental conservation.

Proposed enhancements feature an event space for concerts and markets, a bicycle pump track, cantilevered viewing platforms over the revetment, a sensory garden, upgraded facilities for the existing dog park, camper vehicle parking with waste amenities, and improved pathways with seating and lighting. The plan also retains the current playground and skatepark, ensuring continuity of popular community features.

Cunnane Stratton Reynolds, in collaboration with Roughan & O’Donovan Consulting Engineers, has developed this comprehensive proposal to transform Murrough Waterfront Park into a vibrant, accessible, and ecologically sensitive public space. The planning application has been submitted under the Part 8 process, marking a significant step toward the project's realisation.
